Dirt Work & Site Preparation in Sealy, Texas

Before the slab, before the steel, somebody has to get the ground right. We clear the footprint, cut and fill to grade, build the pad and make sure water has somewhere to go.

Graded building site with culvert and drainage work by Prestige Land Services near Sealy, Texas

What It Is

The Part Nobody Sees Later

Site prep is the work that decides whether a build sits high and dry for thirty years or fights water every spring. Grade, compaction and drainage are set once, before the concrete goes down, and they are expensive to argue with afterward.

We handle that stage — from a raw, grown-up tract to a pad a slab crew can pour on.

Typical Scope

What the Work Involves

Clearing the footprint

Open the building area plus working room for concrete trucks, deliveries and equipment to turn.

Cut, fill and grading

Move dirt to get a level, stable surface at the elevation your builder needs — and keep it draining away from the structure.

Pad building and compaction

Build the pad up and compact it in lifts so it does not settle unevenly under the slab.

Drainage and culverts

Shape swales and ditches, and set properly sized culverts so runoff moves through instead of standing on the site.

How We Work

One Crew, One Point of Contact

Because we also clear and build access, most projects run start to finish with the same family crew: brush down, pad in, drive built, site cleaned up. Fewer contractors to chase and fewer gaps where something gets missed.

Access usually gets handled at the same time — see gravel driveways and ranch roads. If the tract is still overgrown, we start with land clearing.

Service Area

Where We Do Dirt Work

Site prep across Austin, Waller, Colorado, Fayette, Washington and Fort Bend counties, and into Harris County when the job fits. Common areas include Sealy, Brookshire and Brenham.

Good Questions

Frequently Asked

What does site preparation include?
Whatever it takes to hand a builder ground they can work on: clearing the footprint, cutting and filling to grade, building and compacting the pad, shaping drainage away from the structure and getting access in for trucks and equipment.
Can you build a pad for a barndominium or shop?
Yes. Pads for barndominiums, shops, homes and agricultural buildings are a regular part of our work — built up, shaped and compacted so the slab crew has a solid, level surface.
Do you handle drainage and culverts?
Yes. Drainage is usually the part that gets skipped and later costs the most. We shape the site so water leaves it, and set properly sized culverts where driveways and ditches need them.
Do you work with my builder's plans?
We work to whatever grades and pad dimensions your builder or slab crew gives us. If those numbers aren't set yet, we can start with clearing and access and come back for final grade.
